Summer Programs

Camp AVCS:  Fun in the Sun Summer Camp (FINS)            

A fun program for students entering grades 1 through 8.

• Program begins soon after the end of the school year (early June) through the rest of the summer ending just prior to the new school year in September

• Students may enter and leave the program at any time during this period

• Students participate in fun activities such as arts and crafts, sports and learning games. There are also field trips to Southern California points of interest such as Hurricane Harbor Water Park, Brea Tar Pits, cherry picking, swimming, and skating at a local roller rink.

Summer Academic Program

AVCS holds classes during two summer periods on a compressed schedule for grades. The first period is held from early June through early July and the second period runs from mid-July through about mid-August. Precise dates will be posted on the school calendar page on this site.

• Two consecutive 4-week periods in which key subjects are offered for academic credit

• AVCS requires their students to repeat classes if they received a "D" or "F" during the regular school year

• Students from other schools are invited to enroll to repeat a needed course, fulfill a graduation requirement, to expand their academic proficiency, or to prepare for the upcoming school year.
