ACSI student activities are designed to provide incentives for students to develop skills necessary for Christian leadership, facilitate the learning process, and to help develop composure and confidence in each student. Math Olympics Elementary and middle school students participate in reasoning and comprehension events. Our students regularly place and receive awards. Spelling Bee In this competition, students progress through district, regional, and ultimately national spelling bee competitions. Recently, AVCS took first place in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 7th, and 8th grade at our local Spelling bee. Piano Festival The piano festival is a great opportunity for our students to demonstrate what they have learned during their year in private piano lessons. This event is always an exciting day in the spring as parents take their children to The Master’s College for this competition. The girls look pretty in their dresses and the boys look handsome in their shirts, ties, and suits. This event helps them develop confidence and style as their performance is evaluated. Our students always do well, but the last two years have set a high standard as all of them have proudly returned with ACSI’s blue superior ribbon. Speech Meet The Speech Meet helps develop the skills to be an effective communicator. Students compete in memorizations and oratory skills. AVCS received many awards during the 2009 Speech Elementary meet.
