Elementary Field Trips

Each school year at Antelope Valley Christian, our students have the opportunity to gain valuable educational experiences not only inside the classroom, but outside as well. We believe field trips are an important component of a well rounded education. The field trips are hands-on and provide opportunities to supplement teaching activities in the classroom.

Grades K-3
Kindergarten and first grade take tours at the police and fire stations with our local heroes in uniform. Second graders travel to a colonial style history museum to learn about America’s colonial times. Third graders take a trip to the local Feline Compound to study the wild invertebrates and mammals that reside there.

Grades 4-6
Fourth, fifth and sixth graders attend overnight field trips. Fourth grade attends a California history field trip in and near Sacramento. They explore the intriguing history of California and actually learn how to pan for gold! Students will tour history museums and the state capital; all the while forming stronger and inseparable relationships with their peers. Fifth and sixth graders will find themselves stranded on the gorgeous Catalina Island for two amazing days full of elating experiences. Chaperones are needed for all field trips, they give parents an opportunity to spend time with their child’s class.
